Effective Writing Styles and Techniques
An in-depth course for writers of all genres who are looking to develop or enhance their writing skills. Such topics as: narrative, expository and persuasive writing; developing fictional characters; left and right brain writing; writing formats (APA, MLA, Turabian); referencing guides; using passive language; basic grammar; and a host of other relative topics. Participants are asked to bring a sample of their writing.

How to Promote Your God-Inspired Work:
This session will address specifics on how to capture the attention of your readers; open the door to booksellers, organizations, and businesses; set up a book signing or speaking engagement; design a captivating press kit; hire a publicist or marketing professional; act as your own public relations agent; and overcome pitfalls, setbacks, rejection and burn out. Public Relations, Media and Marketing Professionals share valuable instructions, tips and resources to equip you for the work of getting your book out to the world.

The Art of Effective Public Speaking:
Increase your persuasive and selling power using the techniques of effective communication and public speaking. Topics such as: informative and persuasive speaking, relaxation exercises, hooks, eye contact, body language, impromptu speaking, talking points, note cards, active listening, and closing statements will be addressed. Participants will practice using each of these skills as they deliver a mini speech in class. (Limit 15 students per class)
